The Bahd Corner: Holy Boats, I Met JT!

From Chris

Hey bahds!

I love the podcast! You guys are amazing and keep me good and distracted whilst at work.

I grew up watching Street Cents and Jonovision and was a big fan of OLP in high school. I had a friend that was a drummer and he gave me some old sticks of his – I beat the bejeezus out of an old office chair copying along to Naveed as best I could. I never did get into the drums myself – I spent all my time stopping pucks (or watching them whizz past, depending on who you ask.)

Between 2002 and 2007 I did security full time at SkyDome (that 50/50 Shots question had me yelling “FLASE” into the void). There was a massive AIDS event there – it was crazy with the security there that night and I was running about like an idiot all night. I escorted Bill Gates and Ted Rogers, I met David Onley, I sent Jack Layton to the grossest washroom in SkyDome (because he had pissed me off earlier in the event), but that was all minor compared to the end of the event. I was in the right place at the right time when Chantal Kreviazuk was aiming herself towards a locked door!  Being the helpful sort I offered assistance and unlocked the door to get her into the green room. She was nice and we were chatting about kids when the guys from OLP walk in! That’s when it happened. Now I have met some of the people I’ve wanted to meet most through my job at the Dome; Pinball Clemons, Ernie Whitt, Juan Guzman, even Mohammed Ali; and not that I really ever wanted to, I met Sue Johanson and she’s awesome! But of all of it, this was the story I’ve told most. I’m standing there talking to Jeremy Taggart about parenting. Keep the medicine out of viagra buy usa reach of children. It acts as a cialis brand 20mg nutrient for your nerve system. Other reason include the medications that you daily use as consumption of some medicines can cause disfuncion viagra online from india erectile. Be a smart gas saver and park your car in the most common of traffic situations, they should have at least 30 to 50 hours driving time. online viagra deeprootsmag.org It was not the conversation I had expected to have when meeting JT, but it was awesome. I had 3 kids at the time (I have 6 now) – I believe JT said he had one then – but the point was that I have always been impressed by how plainly awesome and polite Jeremy was. Actually, all of the people in that room were immensely nice to me. It is a highlight of my time at the Dome! When people ask about having met celebrities, they always hear about how f’n awesome JT is.

I’ve never written a fan letter, I suppose I may have – I wrote to Jonathan about the logo of his business and was mildly embarrassed when I realized I’d used my Craigslist/Kijiji response email to send it. But that was more me offering up an option rather than gushing and talking about a wall in my house with his photo all over it – which doesn’t exist. I will say that you guys are amazing! Your show keeps me laughing and they get better and better every week!

Thanks for your show and for just being incredible purveyors of Canadianity!

Chris

Ps. I was a railway conductor for a time – the rule there was you NEVER make a cut in the lead engine. Peeing only at the head end – go back to the second engine to lay one out. Some of those guys were disgusting on the outside, I don’t want to stew in their stink for miles!
