CCS + CREDIT UNIONS OF Atlantic Canada TO PARTNER ON YOUR TWO CENTS

Halifax, Nova Scotia, April 2, 2019: Canadianity Content Studios (CCS) announced today they are partnering with Credit Unions of Atlantic Canada to launch “Your Two Cents”, a consumer affairs web-series aimed at 20-somethings. The production, helmed by former “Street Cents” cast member Jonathan Torrens, will run as an eight part series that aims to inform the next generation of Canadian consumers how to be prudent when it comes to spending and saving money.

“The thing I always loved about “Street Cents” is that it didn’t condescend to its viewers, just armed them with valuable info they could use to make their own decisions. In the same way, “Your Two Cents” will blend pop culture and parody with solid practical takeaway information.” – Jonathan Torrens, Partner CCS.

Demand for this kind of content has been increasing in the years since “Street Cents” went off the air in 2006. Financial literacy isn’t taught in school and with emerging technology changing the way people physically handle money, the timing couldn’t be better to help this tech savvy generation become savvy consumers.

CCS is excited to work with credit unions of Atlantic Canada to debut Your Two Cents.

“When the opportunity arose, we knew we had to be a part of “Your Two Cents”,” says Mike Leonard, CEO of Atlantic Central, the governing body that represents credit unions across Atlantic Canada. “The programming and messaging contained in “Your Two Cents” speaks directly to our values of providing honest, straight forward financial advice to our members. It also shows that we really do understand the financial realities many younger consumers face today. Financial literacy doesn’t have to be stiff and boring, we can make it fun and accessible, while still being useful and “Your Two Cents” really highlights that.”

The first season of “Your Two Cents” will be airing early spring and will have eight episodes for viewing/streaming online.
